On some occasions, I can welcome people who want to see the Wild Alentejo field work in Mértola up close. A small visit to observe, ask questions and understand how decisions are made in an agroforestry system adapted to a semi-arid climate.
The land changes with the season. Water is limited in summer, the soil gives signals and each species responds differently. A visit is a chance to see this process without a presentation prepared to look perfect.
You can observe work in progress, ask about real decisions and, when appropriate, take part in a simple manual task.
This is not open access, agricultural employment, an internship or a maintenance service. Each visit is arranged case by case, with a small group, direct supervision and tasks suited to the conditions of the day.
Tell me who you are, what you would like to see and when you might be available.
I confirm whether there is a suitable date for the field work, heat and site conditions.
See the system, ask questions and follow part of the real work taking place that day.
We may do a simple manual task, always with instructions and direct supervision.
Come prepared for heat, dust and uneven ground.
No one works alone or enters areas that were not agreed.
We do not include machinery, work at height, electricity or products.
Visits depend on prior confirmation and real availability.
Send a message. When a suitable date is available, I will reply with the visit conditions and what is happening in the field at that time.
